Tutorial - creating a scalloped border with a corner rounder

Shaped paper edges have made a major comeback in the last little while, and while there are limitless styles of border punches out there, most of us already have the perfect tool in our arsenal to create beautiful scalloped borders. That's right...the corner rounder!

For this technique, all you need is paper and a corner rounder of any size that has a removable guard. For my purposes, I use an EK Success rounder.

First, remove the guard from your rounder. This is easily done by *gently* prying it away along the front (opposite from the lever).

Then, flip over your punch so you are looking at it from the bottom, insert paper so that the edge is against both guides, and punch.

Line up the next punch so that you can just see the edge from the first scallop and punch again. Continue along your edge until finished.

There you have it! A beautiful, scalloped edge :)

PS. It is worth practicing this technique on scrap paper first to figure out the spacing of the scallops.

Here is the layout I created using my strips:

Can't wait to see what you create with this technique!

That is SO cool, Tanya! Never would have thought of that myself! I am assuming that once done, I can get the guard back on the punch? Your layout is fabulous, and he is a little sweetie! Thanks for sharing such a useful tip. Now to practice.....
